Greg’s Faith Journey And Growth

SPEAKER_00

Welcome back to CC Airwaves. My name is Greg Campbell, and I'm here with my co-host, Paige Matillo. Today we are excited to announce our word of the month for July, and it is journey. As children of God, our journeys each look a little bit different. There will be moments of excitement and joy as we experience life successes. Inevitably, there will also be moments of frustration and sadness. Through all of this, we can prayerfully reflect on God's unconditional love throughout all of our journeys. My journey has been unique. I have always been Catholic, but I have really built a stronger relationship with Christ over the past four years. I went to a public high school and choosing to go to a private Jesuit Catholic university really opened my eyes to God's spiritual impact on me. I have relied heavily on my faith in times of triumph and times where I feel like I am stuck in a rut. My journey has seen ups and downs in faith, but I am eternally grateful for God's love and his forgiveness when I have not been my best self. Together, we're all companions on a journey of faith. And I felt the greatest impact of God's love when he is in control.

Paige’s Unexpected Work Calling

SPEAKER_00

Paige, what's your journey been like?

SPEAKER_01

My journey, just like yours, has definitely had a lot of ups and downs, but I definitely feel like God's been with me every step of the way, nudging me exactly where I need to go. I mean, I talk about this a lot with our director of cemeteries, Andre La, but he'll always sit down in my office and he'll go, Did you ever imagine that you'd end up here that your journey would lead you to work at a cemetery? And I always say, No, this is not what I expected to be doing, you know, at 26 years old. Um, but you know, that's just the journey that God set forth for me. And I am happy to be on it.

SPEAKER_00

Awesome. What's been the best part about your journey?

SPEAKER_01

The best part about my journey, probably the surprises. I mean, it's just you never know where you're gonna end up or who you're gonna meet. You never know what's gonna happen. So I think that I have been very fortunate the way that my journey has gone. But I have really enjoyed

July Reflections On The Middle

the surprising aspects of it. That's awesome. What about you?

SPEAKER_00

I'd say the growth in my relationship with Christ. I've like I said, I've always been faith-based, but I think to being opened and being around other people that are very faith-based and very driven by faith has been really cool. And I think it's given me a lot of really close friends that'll be lifelong friends, and I'm very grateful for that.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. And your journey led you to John Carroll, which is also where my journey led me like four years ago. So more like eight years ago now, actually, but still.

SPEAKER_00

So the month of July brings a variety of emotions, kind of like Paige and I talked about. It brings happiness, it brings warmth, it brings excitement. The weather's nice, maybe we can spend more time with family and friends. For some, including me, July feels like it's a month that's right in the middle of our summer journey. That thought has really made me reflect on how God's discipleship can lead us through the time when we may feel stuck in the middle. Being stuck in the middle can be difficult. Maybe you're stuck in the middle of a loss of a loved one or stuck in a rut at work. Regardless, God's right there journeying with each of us along each step of the

Proverbs 16:9 And Trust

way. He guides us to serve others and to be a person of faith. He knows what's right for us, and it is up to us to trust in him, which can oftentimes be challenging.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it can be. But the Bible assures us in Proverbs 16, 9, that in their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps. This verse helps us to better trust in God's plan for each one of our journeys. He sees our achievements, our struggles, and our outreach for help, and that helps us connect better to grow a strong relationship with him. And as we continue throughout the summer months, we invite you to appreciate the journey that God has put you through. Have faith in Christ, that he is always there for us, and continue to show up for him in his discipleship. Let God the

Father always be the guide to our earthly voyage and always have faith through the ups and downs. And maybe take a moment to ask yourself, where am I at in the journey? How is my relationship with God? It's never too late to take that first step with him.

SPEAKER_00

So going forward, let July be a month of appreciation, a month where we can make an effort to show gratitude to God, the Father Almighty, and to those people who've made our journey with Christ that much more important. Thank you for spending this moment of reflection on us. We hope it brings a new level of appreciation for the journey God has
